Emily, please excuse my ignorance. I am NOT understanding where or what you mean by click on a new line within the page editor. Where exactly in the page editor? If there are already blocks on the page, how does it know which block to apply the code to that I would be pasting? It would help if you showed this in a short video. Thank you.

Emily, Thank you for your response, but you did NOT answer my question. UI understand perfectly well the code to copy. But I do NOT understand where you are talking about to past the code. What do you mean by click on a new line. Where? What new line? Are you talking in a paragrapgh? in a heading?. Please show me in a video exactly where because what you and David have communicated makes no sense. Thank you.

David, I’m beginning to really enjoy the Stax theme. I’m using it to create a site for my client, as well as one for my new venture.

Nonetheless, please excuse my ignorance about using block variations (per our communication exchange above), but I’m NOT fully understanding where to put the block variation code that I would be copying from your block documentation.

You say “simply paste the block into the block editor. Keep in mind, you do NOT need to paste the block within the code editor. Just paste it into the default block editor, and the block variation should then appear on your site exactly as it does within the demo. Then, you can modify the block to fit your needs.” But where exactly are you saying to paste it?

I do NOT fully understand what you mean by “the block editor.” Please share a short video showing what and where exactly you are referring to when using one of the 5 variations for the testimonial block? Thank you.

Thank you for your response. The client is hosting the site on a private server. We were able to reinstall jet pack. The client currently uses Magento as their shopping cart, and does not want to use Woo Commerce. Since they do not want to use Woo Commerce, do we still need for it to be installed for the Stax theme to run properly? In other words do we need the suggested plugins (Woo Commerce, Woo Commerce blocks and Jetpack) if we do not plan on using them or can we uninstall them and still use Stax theme without them?

It appears the Stax theme uses a video in the hero block. That video is hosted in WordPress. Is there a way to host the video in Vimeo Pro? (the server my client is using restricts the file maximum file size to upload the video. So, we need to look at an alternative to where to host the video. Plus, we want the video to automatically play and loop continuously. How can we do that?

Oh, I forgot to ad this question to my previous post. When creating content for the home page using the Stax theme, how could you choose which variation you want for a particular block, such as the icon or testimonial blocks? Your website demo for the Stax Theme provides a page for all the blocks, and another page for a particular block that shows several variations and the code to use.

However, I do NOT see a fast and easy way to either choose the variation to use when using the display editor or to add the code in a particular block using the code editor. The code editor contains code for the entire page, and it is not easily found where to add the code in between where one block ends and another block begins.

Please explain how to select the variation for a particular block you want to use when adding that block to the home page.

    Thank you in advance.

David, OK I made a lot of progress and was able to use icons I have in my library and replace the icons in the blocks.

As for creating content for the home page, am I supposed to delete the blocks in the editor that came with the Stax theme and replace them with one or more of my own blocks?

David, OK.. now it is making some sense. My understanding is you can go about creating pages and posts using the block editor and you can add Organic Themes Stax blocks onto the pages and posts. Is that right?

Here is what I’m NOT understanding. How to design the home page? After installation of the Stax theme, it appears as if the home page contains a series of blocks about the Stax theme. Am I supposed to delete these blocks and add new ones for my content?

Also, when I click on the icon box (or even add a new block with the icon box), I’m confused about how to change the icon image. The URL states it is in an image folder, but these images are NOT in my WordPress media library. The top menu has a replace link but it goes to the media library that does NOT currently contain the icon images. Plus, the right sidebar does NOT show the image or a way to replace it. So, how can you switch the image?

Also, your documentation on the website about the Organic blocks shows multiple variations of the icon box. Where is that option in the block editor for the home page? I do NOT see the various options and cannot figure out how to add the special code your site allows visitors to copy. Please explain.

    Thank you in advance.

David, Thank you for your detailed reply. I’m now able to work on the site with the Stax theme.

However, I’m confused about the use of templates with this theme. When working on the page from within the editor in beta mode, I notice the template in use at the top. Is that how you choose which template you want to work with for the page?

How do you add an organic themes block to the page and place it between two blocks that are above and below?

When creating a new page, how do you select the organic theme block(s) you want to use? And how if any difference in setting up the navigation menu in Stax than other themes?

    Thank you in advance.

Oh, and one more thing in addition to the previous two posts – how do I add an image to my profile in Organic Themes? Right now as you can see my avatar is a green and white design. But when I went into my profile settings I do NOT see where you can upload an image.

Please refer the the previous post when answering the following. In an email you wrote me recently you suggested adding a Gutenberg Block plug in. There are over 20 plugins available, which one do you recommend? N

Why would I need such a plugin when the WordPress install already provides a way to create content using blocks? And especially if your Stax Theme includes a block editor? (This issue is above and beyond the issues I’m experiencing in my previous post.

Emily, I am beyond frustration attempting to use your new Stax Theme. While I understand how to edit within a block, it is NOT at all clear how to create a site using your Stax theme. After installing your Stax theme in a brand new WordPress install, I went to see how the site looks when going to the live URL. It shows your design of the Stax theme all on one page. But I do NOT se where any of the content in your design is located. Then when I started to create a new page and added the Hero Block, I went to see it in preview. But instead of showing that page, it showed your Stax theme page and added the Hero block I created to the very bottom of that page. Based on David’s post that the Stax theme is by far the best and easiest theme you’ve ever created, based on my experience thus far it appears the most difficult. It would be best for you to provide a getting started documentation to show and explain step by step how to get started with your new Stax theme. Thank you.

I’m very confused. After installing the Stax theme into a brand new WordPress install AND installing the blocks plugin, I went to look at how the default site looks and it shows your Stax Theme all in one page, but not the page content I created. But I do NOT see any of the block’s content in any of the pages or posts. When I created a new page and added the hero block, I went to look at the page in preview, but it showed your Stax page instead and added the Hero block to the bottom. I have no idea where all the content is that shows regarding the Stax theme that appears published. In a previous communication by email you instructed me to review Gutenberg blocks, but the issue I’m having is more associated with your Stax theme. Without any documentation, it is very difficult at best and impossible at worst to figure this out. Please note, I’ve been using Organic Themes for over 9 years and was excited to hear based on your post that the Stax Theme is by far your best and easiest theme ever to use. I trust that may be true, but until you provide documentation to show how to get started, it appears by far the most difficult theme to figure out – sort of like walking blindfolded. Please provide some documentation ASAP to show how to get started. Thank you.
