KeymasterHi Manu,
Thanks! There has been significant damage and still power outages in the area, but we’re back online and beginning to catch up on support.
I apologize for your issues working with STAX! Some of these issues look familiar, so let me know if I’ve addressed them in another thread. 🙂
1. The hero block image and text positioning appears to be displaying correctly for me. Did this issue get resolved?
2. There are the 9 preset positioning options within the hero block. However, if these presets don’t get the exact positioning you’re after, you can add a “Position” block within the hero block. Then, add your text within the position block. You may then adjust the position of the content more specifically using the block options. Within the position block options, you can choose to reset the position in mobile view.
Also, it appears you were able to edit the text color and size. Is this working as expected now?
3. I believe this was addressed in a previous request, and you can adjust font sizes for page titles and headings in the global style settings of the editor. Let us know if you need further clarification.
4. I believe the slowness of your site is related to either your hosting provider, or a particular plugin that may be affecting the performance of your site. You could try disabling plugins one-by-one to see if it helps improve the performance.
Let us know if there is anything else, and thanks for your patience! Working with blocks and the full-site editor is a fundamentally different way of working with WordPress, and it does take some time before the process of working with blocks “clicks”. Then, hopefully it will all begin to make more sense.
Thanks!

KeymasterHi David,
Thanks for reaching out! Interesting. It’s possible a security plugin is preventing updates from third-party plugins. Do you have any security plugins active? If so, try temporarily deactivating the plugin, then attempting the update again.
Let us know if this works.
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Manu,
No problem! Who is your hosting provider?
Did you happen to get the content alignment issue resolved in the Hero Block? It seems to appear correctly on top of the hero image for me when viewing the site, see attached screenshot.
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Manu,
After inspecting your site more closely, I have several things to report:
1. Your theme is not the most recent version. However, you are probably not receiving update notifications from third-party WordPress products. This is most likely a firewall setting with your server, or a security plugin preventing your site from communicating with our update service.
2. In addition to your site loading very slowly, your admin is incredibly slow as well. In fact, it timed out when I attempted to perform a plugin update in your admin. This timeout issue is most likely why your site may have crashed when attempting to restore a block in your admin. This is almost certainly the fault of your hosting service or server. I highly recommend upgrading your hosting package for better performance, or moving to a different hosting provider. Solving this issue will likely solve your other issues.
3. I updated the “About” page template so that your header now displays properly. Also, I changed the heading size for your page titles in the editor as well.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Manu,
Sure!
1. Try the following CSS:
h2.wp-block-post-title { font-size: 18px; }Also, you can change global heading sizes within the Site Editor. I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.
2. The About page most likely has the “About” page template applied, which typically displays a banner image at the top of the page. You can try changing the About page to use the default page template. Also, updating to the latest version of STAX may change the page template and resolve the issue.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Jeffrey,
Thanks for reaching out. I’m not sure what would cause your plugins to be deleted when performing an update, but it should not be theme related. It may have been a temporary outage with your hosting server in the middle of the update. That’s the only cause I can think of.
I would recommend trying to perform updates again, and if plugins are deleted during the update, contact your hosting provider as to why this may be occurring.
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Manu,
Sorry to hear of your struggles.
– Which block is invalid that you were attempting to recover? Also, what version of STAX are you using? We recently pushed an update for the theme.
– It appears your About Page is using the transparent header template part. So, the header is there, it’s just on top of your other content. This might be resolved by updating the theme. Otherwise, the issue may be resolved by changing the header layout in the Site Editor. If you’re having trouble, you can provide us with your WordPress login info to take a closer look.
– This should just require adding a custom link to your menu under Appearance > Menus in the WordPress admin. You can also use this plugin to add a link, https://wordpress.org/plugins/login-or-logout-menu-item/
Let us know if there is anything else. And we can help take a closer look if you provide your login info in a private reply.
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Manu,
Thanks! Try updating to the latest version of the Organic Blocks plugin (v2.0.6.1). The update should resolve the menu issue.
Regarding your site loading, it appears to be loading quite slowly in Chrome as well. Who is you hosting provider? What hosting package do you have with them?
It may be your hosting provider, or it may be a plugin. However, upon inspecting the code of your site, I don’t see many scripts loaded with the exception of a handful for WooCommerce and blocks, which shouldn’t be enough to slow your site significantly. So I’m lead to believe the issue may lie with your hosting provider.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
