David MorganKeymasterHi Rob,
Interesting, in that case I don’t believe it was theme related. This may have been a caching issue.
I totally understand regarding the editor. Even as a long-time WordPress developer, I’m often surprised at how drastically the editor changes on a frequent basis. However, I am confident that the WordPress team will continually improve the editor since it is their primary focus at this time.
David MorganKeymasterHi Tim,
Your code looks correct for a traditional child theme. However, since STAX is a block theme, the process is slightly different. I believe there is an additional requirement for a theme.json file. The following links may help:
You can use this plugin to create a child theme for block themes:
This is an official tutorial from WordPress on the process:
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Rob,
Interesting. There have not been any updates to the theme that would have resulted in these issues. However, the Mini Cart block relates to the WooCommerce and WooCommerce Blocks plugins. It’s possible an update to either of these plugins could have caused this issue.
First, I would make sure the WooCommerce Blocks plugin is active. If not, activate the plugin and then try to search for the Mini Cart block again. If it’s still not available, I would recommend reaching out to WooCommerce support, as this may have been a change on their end that we were not notified of.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Kathy,
Thanks for reaching out. We’ll be happy to help.
You shouldn’t need to revert all customizations in order to re-add the Mini Cart block. Within the Site Editor, when editing the Header template part, you can add a new block after the Navigation block, and search for “Cart”. This should reveal the Mini Cart block, which you can click to insert immediately after the Navigation block. See attached screenshot.
Regarding the new issue, it’s possible the mini cart template was somehow modified. You can restore or modify the mini cart template by clicking the “Edit Mini-Cart Drawer template” link within the block options for Mini Cart block (see attached screenshot). This will open a new window for modifying the Mini Cart template (see additional screenshot).
Also, please keep in mind these are WooCommerce blocks, and not directly related to the theme. Reaching out to WooCommerce support regarding the management of these blocks may prove helpful as well.
Thanks!

The update that resolves the Posts Block is an update to the Organic Blocks plugin specifically.
If your site is hosted on WordPress.com, the update will be applied automatically within 48 hours of the update. However, in your case, it sounds as though you are in a self hosted environment. That’s totally fine, but you’ll need to make sure your theme and plugin licenses are applied in order to receive updates.
Your license can be found in your Organic Themes account. You can apply the theme license under Appearance > Theme License in the WordPress admin, and the plugin license under the “Organic Blocks” tab in the WordPress admin menu. Once the licenses have been applied, you can then update the plugin under the Plugins menu, and the theme under the Appearance > Themes menu. It may take a few minutes after applying the licenses before you see the updates available in the dashboard.
I hope this helps. Let us know if there is anything else.
Thanks!

David MorganKeymasterHi Mark,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. After testing and inspecting the code, it seems some crucial code for the page selection functionality may have been accidentally removed in a previous update. We resolved the issue with a new update.
Please update to version 2.2.10, and let us know if it resolves the issue. You may need to delete the block and re-add it before the changes can take effect.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Stefan,
Thanks for the login info.
I logged into your site and cleared the customizations for the Featured Image page template. However, I’m not seeing error previously mentioned. I’m not sure if the error was resolved, or I’m just looking in the wrong place?
Can you see if the issue is resolved on your end?
Thanks!

David MorganKeymasterNo problem! 🙂
David MorganKeymasterHi Mark,
Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like the Pages post type is working as intended. However, if you want to display multiple pages, you can select individual pages by holding down the “Command” or “Ctrl” key when selecting pages. As a result, all select pages will display in the block.
I hope this helps. Let us know if you need further guidance.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Stefan,
We’ve pushed an update for the theme that should resolve the issue with navigation menus. Please update to version 1.4.2 and let us know if your menus appear.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Stefan,
I may need login access to inspect this issue further. My suspicion is that customizations might need to be cleared for some templates or parts within the editor. However, I would need to see to what extent the theme has been customized.
Thanks!
