Hi Stevie,
Yes, as long as the Organic Widgets plugin remains active, your custom pages will remain intact when switching to the STAX theme. 🙂
Let us know if there is anything else.
Thanks!

David MorganKeymasterHello,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your solution! I was going to say, based on your PHP version I didn’t see any reason those plugins would be crashing your site. However, they are large plugins with a lot of data, so it makes sense that it was a memory issue with your server.
As a side note, the Organic Blocks plugin is the only “required” plugin for STAX. You can optionally choose not to install the other plugins during the setup wizard by clicking the “Advanced” tab.
I’m glad to hear it’s resolved. Let us know if there is anything else.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Jeff,
No problem. This was a recently discovered bug, and a tricky bug! Basically, the theme was trying to pull a default background image from our local development server that is not accessible online, and that was causing a hang in mobile browsers.
Updating to the most recent version of STAX should resolve this issue. Or you can manually remove/replace the default image for the Hero Block in the site editor.
Let us know if you need further instruction, or if the theme update resolves the issue.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Stefan,
No problem! For some reason, the Customizer is hidden by default when using block themes. Which makes it a bit more cumbersome when trying to add Custom CSS or change the Site Identity.
To access the Customizer, try clicking Appearance > Custom CSS in the admin. You should then be able to toggle on the option for editing Custom CSS. After toggling the option, refresh the page. Then, Appearance > Customize should be available in the menu.
Let us know if this works.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Manu,
I apologize for the delay.
There are 2 header template parts included with the STAX theme — a transparent header and a header with a background.
You can replace or swap these headers within the site editor following these instructions (screenshot attached):
1. Navigate to Appearance > Editor in the admin.
2. Click the “List View” icon in the top left of the editor.
3. Select the top level header template part.
4. Click the dropdown options panel for the block (3 vertical dots).
5. Select the “Replace Header” option.
6. You may then choose from the existing other header template part. This will allow you to swap between the provided headers. However, pay attention to the template you are changing the header for, as the change will apply to all corresponding page templates.
If you need the transparent header to display only on the home page, I recommend creating a new page template within the editor from the existing page template. This can also be accomplished in the editor by clicking the “Add New” button in the top right of the editor when viewing the available templates. You can then select to create a new page template, and apply the header-transparent template part to your new page template. I attached a screenshot for this as well.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!

If you have an existing site and content, I would not recommend using WP Reset. That recommendation was in reference to the original issue.
In your case, I’d recommend manually removing any imported demo content that was added to existing content by deleting the imported pages and posts.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!

David MorganKeymasterHi Stefan,
No problem:
1. When adding a menu item to the Custom Menu, add “button” within the CSS Classes field. You may have to reveal this option within the Screen Options at the top of the menus page. See screenshot.
2. You should be able to change the favicon by navigating to Appearance > Customize > Site Identity within the admin.
Let us know if there is anything else.
Thanks!

David MorganKeymasterHey guys,
You can also use the WP Reset plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-reset/
Keep in mind, it will wipe out all content and start your site totally fresh.
Thanks!
David MorganKeymasterHi Erich,
This was a tricky one! I’ve seen most issues, but this one was a tough bug to track down.
So, it turns out, the demo content is displaying a default background image for the Hero Block on the single page template. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem. However, it’s trying to load the image from our local testing environment, which doesn’t exist online. As a result, it’s causing an image load issue, and the page is hanging.
We will be updating the theme and demo content with a fix for this issue soon. In the meantime, you can replace the custom background image within the Hero Block in the single page template with another image (that exists on your server), and it will fix the loading issue in mobile.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
