Participant1.Category is not working when chosen for taxonomy; only post_folder works for both the content slideshow, AND the posts block. This is urgent as these are heavily featured on the site.
When choosing ANY category other than uncategorized, all posts disappear on the posts block. As a temporary workaround I am using the post_folder, and got that to publish and show live, but need to fix why categories are not applying even though they are showing up on the post itself; on the category dropdown as #of posts assigned to that category etc. They just will not show when queried
2.The archives pages are showing the chosen category from the dropdown AND all other categories, we need to ONLY show the chosen category, not all?
3.Is there a way to make the post text (header, date, button etc) middle of the post box, not at the top on every block like this? See attached
4. On the content slideshow is there a way to make the entire post clickable as a link instead of just the text header and button? Would need each slide to change the link to send to correct post, not the entire block itself be a link

KeymasterHi Diana,
We’ll be happy to help.
1. I’m not sure what you’re referring to by “post_folder” as that is not a post type or taxonomy that should be available for selection. Can you provide screenshots to illustrate this issue? As a workaround, you can use the Query Block instead of the Posts Block.
2. Do you have a link to illustrate this? This is an example of an archive page from the theme demo exhibiting the default behavior, and only displaying posts with the “Featured” category applied, https://stax.organicthemes.com/blog/category/featured/
3. You can accomplish this using the Query Block instead of the Posts Block, and arrange each element in the desired order within the editor.
4. Unfortunately, making the whole slide a link is not an option with the plugin at this time without customization.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi David, sorry for the delay, I’m not getting notified by your system when your responses come in.
Regarding 1 & 2; we are using the posts block because that was the specific formatting we were looking to have shown, not the query block lists.
Here is an example page using 2 Stax posts blocks atop each other. See screenshot to see how we were able to get the correct category to show, ONLY by using the post_folder within the editor. Using Category shows none of the posts. When the breadcrumbs are used and it goes back to the archive page, edited again to use your Stax posts for formatting to match, then ALL posts show up, NOT the correct category only.

ParticipantEdit: for simplicity sake, I changed the archive template to have just the Query Block NOT the posts block. It doesn’t match the formatting we wanted but functionality is more important, this will apply only if the breadcrumbs links are used off of individual posts.
However, on all main Events pages, and any pages using the Posts block that we specifically wanted the color/layout/style of the Posts variation chosen, it still would be good to have them pull from the Category, not the post_folder if possible.
Here is another example of a page using the Posts block, that is only pulling the correct category of posts through the post_folder taxonomy. Using category pulls nothing, unless something is marked “uncategorized”

KeymasterHi Diana,
I think in this case the Query Block is the better option. However, you can achieve the same style and 3-column formatting as the Posts Block when using the Query Block. It just requires setting the correct options for the Query Block. If you want to provide your WP login information, I can setup a sample Query Block for you, using a similar style and format to the Posts Block.
I’m still confused as to why there is a “post_folder” taxonomy on your site. For posts, the default taxonomies are category and post_tag. Any additional taxonomies for posts would likely be added via a plugin or custom code. Have there been any custom taxonomies added to your site?
Thanks!

ParticipantI’m using the Folders plugin so perhaps it added a post_folder taxonomy.
Is there a private way to provide a login to see about replicating the exact same formatting as the post layout on the https://otpa.dreamhosters.com/annual-meeting/ page using the Query loop instead? I’ve already created all 12 of those pages using that same layout so I’d have to replace the blocks but if it works better I could.(I was also speaking back and forth with you about the submenu dropdown not scrolling on desktop, if that could be looked at too maybe…)

KeymasterHi Diana,
Sure thing! You should be able to respond in the forums and check the “Set as private reply” option, which makes your login information only viewable to us.
Let us know if that works.
Thanks!
