ParticipantHello, the pagination displays as 2 pages with next regardless of how many pages there are actually to be displayed, for example on pages that should only have one page of posts showing, it still says “1,2, next” even when there’s no posts displayed or allotted to that query loop yet.
I’ve tried editing all available options and nothing is fixing this.
Please advise. This is on query loop page. post blocks pages, index and archives

KeymasterHi Diana,
As a possible solution, I would first recommend re-saving your permalinks under Settings > Permalinks.
Other potential causes of this issue are:
1. The page name is the same as an category/taxonomy name
2. A plugin
3. Improper editing of a page template (This might be the case. Based on the markup, it looks like a template part has been added to the blank canvas page template.)If the issue is number 3, you will likely need to reset/restore the page template to its original state within the Editor.
Thanks!

ParticipantI have the header/footer blocks on the template because otherwise it was not pulling the correct nab menus (previous issue i’ve written to support about). It would not apply the overlay/transition of logos etc when applied to the page directly…

KeymasterHi Diana,
Please keep in mind that any replies containing more than 3 links will get flagged as spam by our forums, and prevent the reply from posting.
I was able to login using the provided credentials. However, my user does not have the necessary permissions for viewing and making necessary edits. Can you grant the provided user admin priveleges?
Thanks!

ParticipantOh I see, I was trying to be as helpful as I could with the link examples haha
I updated the role to Admin so it should have full access
I’m also curious if there’s a way to make the content slideshow only start scrolling once it’s shown on screen? right now by the time someone goes down the page and sees it, it’s already on slide 3ish and that defeats the purpose of using it as a featured news block that needs to be in order. ty for all your help

KeymasterHi Diana,
In looking at your pages, it appears a template part for pagination has been added to a static page (such pagination is intended for archives, not static pages). This custom pagination that has been added to the page is separate from the Posts Block, and not a default template part for the theme. WordPress has no way of relating the pagination template part to the Posts Block on that page, so the pagination issue you are seeing is unrelated to the Posts Block — or even the theme. The current pagination on the page essentially does nothing. I have attached screenshots to illustrate this.
If you would like for the Posts Block to display pagination, I would recommend toggling the Pagination option under the display settings for the block, and removing the unrelated pagination block from the page. I have already done this on your Education Events page. In order for the Posts Block to display pagination, the selected category for the posts block must contain more than one post. Currently, the “OTPA Education Events” category only contains one post.
In this case, it seems most the issues are the result of how the Events Calendar is being implemented. In which case, I would recommend reaching out to their support for the best practices in adding events to pages. I believe the Events Calendar includes archive pages for displaying various categories of events, but this will need to be confirmed with their support.
Regarding the child theme creation, there’s no need for a child theme with STAX since you can always revert a template to its default settings by resetting the template in the Site Editor.
Regarding the submenus, I’m not entirely clear as to the issue. It sounds like maybe multiple submenus have been added to a parent menu, and if the parent menu is too close to edge of the browser window, the submenu displays off screen. The default WordPress navigation block isn’t really equipped to handle lots of submenus. If this is the issue, your menus might be better suited for a Mega Menu plugin like this one, https://wordpress.org/plugins/megamenu/
Also, using a Mega Menu plugin will provide more control over the mobile break point.
I hope this helps provide some clarity.
Thanks!

ParticipantThank you very much for the detailed explanations and looking at them, i’ll remove the paginations
as far as the menu issues, it’s not that it goes off screen horizontally because there’s too many sub menus, it’s that the menu isn’t won’t scroll vertically if there’s too many options on the list. as mentioned it happens on your Stax demo site too. On this particular site the last 2 items on the events list aren’t showing on my screen (but do show on another computer)
With a mega menu would that still provide the transition effect of changing from transparent to white, and switching logos that your custom menu provides now? That was a big selling point on the whole site.
