ParticipantWe have noticed the drop down menus on mobile are no longer functioning. They work on a desktop. There also is a fade in effect (https://jumpshare.com/share/C7TBGqw9lcTzVq8ZOgHt) associated with the Organic Stax theme that is causing issues and support has recommended having it disabled. Can you please advise on this issue?
Thank you,
Marc Baker

ParticipantWe have contacted Word Press support to notify them of the lack of response from post in your Technical Theme Support thread for the STAX them regarding the Fade In effect built into the Organic STAX them that they feel is root of the issues being experienced. They are going to try and find a workaround as it appears support is unavailable.
On unrelated note, the drop down top navigational menu is still nonfunctional for mobile devices. It is still working on the desktop version. It would be appreciated if any response or guidance to our request from December 2 could be provided.
Thank you,
Marc Baker

KeymasterHi Marc,
Thanks for reaching out. Can you please provide a link to your site for us to troubleshoot this? We need to reproduce the issue and see console logs in order to debug it, since this issue does not occur in our demos.
Also, what was updated on your site recently? Have any new plugins been added?
Thanks!

ParticipantHello David,
Thank you for your response.
Link: https://mbmediaministries.net/
Imagify and WP Rocket have been added in the last week after this issue began. Other than that, there have been no other plug ins added recently. As mentioned, the menu has worked without issue since we began using the Organic STAX theme in April and so it may have been an update that caused the issue but we cannot figure it out on our end.
Regards,
Marc

ParticipantHello David,
It has now been seven days since the issue with our mobile dropdown menus began and the first request for help was submitted. During that time we have seen you responding to other requests after our was submitted. Are there any updates on your end? We have had people contact us and I can only tell them it has been difficult contacting support. Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Marc

KeymasterHi Marc,
Thanks for you patience. It takes time to debug issues, resolve them, and push updates. Particularly, when the cause of the issue is outside our theme, as in this case. The Gutenberg plugin is at fault for this issue, which some research will reveal that the plugin is notorious for causing issues (https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/gutenberg/reviews/).
Deactivating the plugin fixes the issue. Noting, the theme does not require the Gutenberg plugin. So if you’re not using its features, I recommend deactivating it.
Regardless, we have pushed an update to the theme this morning that should resolve the issue when the Gutenberg plugin is active.
If you’re hosted on WordPress.com, it may take a day before the update is accepted and pushed. I would recommend clearing your browser cache and trying again to see if the issue is resolved. Where is your site hosted?
When inspecting your site, I found several console errors:

I would recommend deactivating plugins until you find the culprit. Perhaps WP Rocket? It should also be noted that caching and performance plugins like WP Rocket can disable Javascript functionality in themes if not careful.
I hope this helps. Thanks!

ParticipantThank you for your response David. The theme seemed to be the best place to start troubleshooting and we will now start looking at the individual plugins. WP Rocket was installed after the issue began so I’ve started with disabling the Gutenberg plugin and will go from there.

KeymasterHi Marc,
No problem! Keep us posted.
Just as a followup — the mobile menu navigation uses Javascript. So, if you’re using a performance plugin, and deferring or compressing/minimizing Javascript, it can sometimes disable any features that use Javascript.
Thanks!

ParticipantMarc,
We are experiencing the same issue. If you haven’t already done so make the main menu category a link which will open that page allowing the customer to follow from there. It’s an added step but will allow access till the bug is fixed.
