ParticipantHello, I am having the same issue as Marc Baker below that our mobile menu dropdowns are not working at all, i see in that thread that this was a bug that was fixed however our theme has never once been able to update with any new versions, and is currently on version 1.6.1.
I see your instructions to delete the theme and reinstall, however my concern is that we made extensive changes to page templates to make sure they all worked/looked and functioned how we needed them to. Will deleting and reinstalling a new theme version override all these changes and revert us back to stock? I do not remember all the changes we made and recreating them would be a huge ordeal most likely figuring out what was now broken and/or not displaying correctly, and trying to fix.
Is there instead a way to apply the bug fix and/or update our theme without having to do this? Will we have to continually delete the old theme as it will not update properly? this has been a recurring issue of theme support not being provided and would appreciate direction before we are asked to renew and pay again for a theme not up to date. (It also said our theme license was inactive, and when i clicked to activate it now says were running the theme on 2 sites which is innacurate)
Fix instructions you provided Marc: No problem! This was a bug that was fixed over a month ago. However, the automatic updater has not been working for older theme versions, so in some cases a manual theme update must be performed. Instructions for performing a manual update can be found here, https://organicthemes.com/installation/#theme

Participantwe need a response to this immediately please, our theme renewal payment is coming up and it says “your website will have access to continual theme updates and maintenance, and you will receive customer support and account access from Organic Themes” which so far has not been true at all. With no customer service support available except through these message boards that don’t get responses in a timely manner, and a theme that has never updated ONCE and is now broken, this is unacceptable. thank you

Participantthe mobile site of otpa also continually breaks the menu and fixes itself when we clear cache but it looks like this constantly unless we manually clear siteground cache

KeymasterHi Diana,
Our apologies for the delay! To answer your question: No, you should not lose any of your saved templates by deleting and re-installing the theme. Those templates are stored by the name of the theme, so they should be preserved even if you were to switch to a different theme and then back to STAX.
That being said, it’s always recommended to perform a website backup prior to updates (even automatic updates). However, this is most likely a service your hosting provider already provides.
There is another way to update the theme as well if the automatic update is not working, but it’s more involved. It requires using an FTP application or File Manager with your hosting provider to overwrite the theme file in the wp-content > themes > organic-stax directory on your server with the latest theme version. The result is essentially the same as deleting and re-uploading the latest theme version though.
This is an update bug we are looking into resolving. Please let us know if the issue is persisting after performing the update, and we’ll work to get it resolved asap.
As an additional note, after performing the update, please clear any browser or plugin cache to see the changes take effect.
Thanks!
