WPML Multilingual Theme Compatibility

multilingual

Using an Organic Theme with multiple languages just got easier.

Hola! We have been working with the good folks at WPML to certify several Organic Themes as fully compatible with their popular multilingual plugin. Our themes already include localization for easy translation to other languages. However, using the WPML plugin takes website translation to the next level — making it possible for to switch between multiple languages with the click of a button on your website.

We are pleased to announce that several of our themes have received certificates of compatibility from WPML, and more will be officially compatible in the future. Currently, the themes that are fully compatible include:

Please keep in mind that even if your Organic Theme isn’t on the list, it doesn’t mean that it will not be compatible with the WPML plugin. It just means that the themes above have been submitted to WPML, passed their tests and were approved for full compatibility with their multilingual plugin.

So if you’re seeking a WordPress theme with the ability to switch between multiple languages than you’ve come to the right place. Choose a theme from the list above in conjunction with the WPML plugin for guaranteed multilingual support. If you have an Organic Theme not listed above that you would like to see fully compatible with the WPML plugin, please leave a comment below and we will prioritize it.

  1. Any solution for “Natural” theme? Is there currently any plugin that I can use?

    • You can use WPML for the Natural Theme, it’s not 100% compatible (mostly smaller issues). Alternatives would be ‘Say What?’, ‘qTranslate’, ‘Codestyling Localization’, etc.

      Thanks!

  2. I am considering the theme called Organization.

Any plans to make it compatible with WPML

    Thanks

    • Aloha!

Organization is the WordPress.COM version of our NonProfit Theme. The NonProfit Theme available directly from our site is for self-hosted WordPress sites using the the open source version of WordPress from WordPress.ORG.

That being said, Organization can be made multilingual through WordPress.com. They have provided instructions for doing so here, http://en.support.wordpress.com/set-up-a-multilingual-blog/

We will prioritize the NonProfit Theme on our site for full WPML compatibility as well :)

  3. Awesome! This is why I love Organic Themes …. Real design/development means streamlining not adding a bunch of lame bell and whistles. Keep up the excellent work!!! :)

  4. How’s it going with the compatibility of the NonProfit theme with WPML? I’m experiencing some issues with my multilingual homepage right now under Theme Options.

  5. Hellou,

thank you for all your efforts with multilingual plugins. I have also tried to use a few plugins that actually translate the content automaticcaly such as “Translate This Button” etc. It seems that none of them are compatible with the adventure theme which is frustrating since travelling is all about posting for peaple from all over the world.

Do you know any free translation plugins that are compatible with the adventure theme?

    Thank you
    Andreas

  6. Hi Andreas,

The Adventure Theme is considered a WPML Compatible theme so that would be your best option. If you are looking for a free option you could look into the following options: ‘Say What?’, ‘qTranslate’, ‘codestyling-localization’, although do note that we cannot guarantee plugin compatibility as this depends on how the plugin itself is coded and there are too many for us to test them all. Hopefully you find something which works for you.

    Thank you!
